River Island

River Island

A secluded island keeps this 4-bedroom, 5700 sf home, a hushed secret along the banks of a winding Montana river. Aged grey coral boards, Montana moss rock & bonderized standing seam roof integrate this home into the landscape. Expansive windows capture the picturesque views, pocketing glass doors transition you from the main living space to the covered screened patio. A grand chestnut entry door welcomes guests into the open living, dining, and kitchen area; an alder island drawing your eye to a thoughtfully designed kitchen, its brilliant pallet absorbing the natural tones of the outdoors. Bridge timbers, repurposed from an original bridge that accessed the property, bring a rustic element to this refined country home. Reclaimed white oak flooring pulls you through the home, each space designed to stand alone yet open with graceful flow for entertaining. Textured concrete walkways lead you to an outdoor space that lends itself to the natural surroundings and thoughtful architecture. Their intentional scaled of low-slung roof lines to dance with the mountain scape, utilizing natural materials to echo the surrounding river bottom, capturing views, and purposeful intent to blend traditional craftsmanship & historical design. The interior design team thoughtfully creating spaces, quite in tone & influenced by nature, bring the project to rest peacefully along the riverbanks.
